Jean Cleastia Helmey

Savannah Jean C. Helmey, 78, died Friday, June 15, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Clyde and lived in Savannah most of her life. Jean was a member of Bloomingdale First Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, George W. Helmey of Savannah; three sons, Rodney Helmey of Savannah, Roger Helmey of Pooler, and Donald Helmey of Atlanta; two sisters, Ruby Turner of Savannah and Ellarie Kennedy of Bulloch County; grandchild, Wendy Helmey of Savannah, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West.
