Estelle W. Rogers

Colonels Island Estelle W. Rogers, 87, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 after a long illness. Born February 9, 1926 in Sylvania, GA, she was a member of the Port Wentworth Baptist Church and retired from St. Joseph Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband Teddy Rogers, Sr. and a daughter, June Rogers Sanders. She is survived by her two sons and daughters in law, Teddy and Gail Rogers, Jr. and Don and Edna Rogers; a son in law, Loy Sanders all of Colonels Island; a sister, Carrie Ziegler of Sylvania; a brother, Carlton Weaver (Etta Rae) of Sylvania; four grandchildren, Sheri Carter, Russell Rogers, Holly Rogers, and Sunny Rogers; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 12:00 until 1:30 Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel followed by graveside services at 2:00 p.m. at Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ford Carter, Garrett Rogers, Russell Rogers, Sanford Carter, Loy Sanders, Andrew Carter, and Mickey Collins, Sr. A special thank you is extended to Hospice Savannah and the caretakers and staff of Buckingham South.
