Jeanette B. Sikes

Jeanette Sikes, 84, passed away at home Sunday, February 3, 2019, surrounded by her family.

Born in Wayne County, she lived most of her life in Hinesville.  She was retired from the Georgia State Probation Office after many years of service and was a member of Little Creek Baptist Church and the Peace Officers Association of Georgia.  Jeanette enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at the coast.  She loved traveling on family vacations, spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, and playing the piano.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sikes, and a grandson, Jeffery Sikes.

Surviving are her children, Cathy Sayers (Mark), Carla Mulford (Chip), Wumpy Sikes (Kathy), Missy French (De), Danny Sikes (Kitty), and Wade Moody; Sisters, Judy Ostrum and Shirley Davis; grandchildren, Chad Mulford, Nikki Edmonson (Jeffery), Lee Sikes, Jay Sayers (Kim), Allie (Tina) Sayers, Greg Sikes (Jess), Chelsea O’Quinn, Trey Sikes (Alexis), Cody French (Shelby), Jenifer Smith (Joseph), Weston Moody, Whaley Moody, Hayden Roudebush, and Wayden Moody; great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Blake, and Paisley Edmonson, Emerson, Bennett, and Palmer Sayers, Trent Sayers, Rylee Rivers, and Ridge French; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Funeral Services will begin at 1pm, Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Burial will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Park.    

Pallbearers will be Billy Kirk, Gary Richardson, John Rogers, Clint Durrence, Drew Payne, and Casey Hale.  Honorary pallbearers will be Stevie Wright and BJ Strickland.
