Jean Doris Sturla

Jean Sturla, 73, went peacefully in her sleep and was reunited with her husband, Tony, on Sunday, December 2, 2018.

Born in New York City, she was an Interpretive Ranger at Lake Mead National Park for many years.  She was a member of the Liberty County Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Anthony “Tony” Sturla,

She is survived by her children, Anthony and Charmayne Sturla, Robert and Trish Sturla, Jeanne and Tony Somers, and Joe and Stella Sturla; sister, Sharon Ewing; grandchildren, Mason, Raquel, Nick, Jean Marie, Sabrina, Brittany, Brandy, Sawyer and Isabella; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kahsai, Kaydence, and Khalyse; and numerous extended family members.

Visitation will be 5-6 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  The memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 6, 2018.
