Daniel Andrew Yaklin of Colonels Island passed away at home Saturday, November 17, 2018, from natural causes at the age of 77.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, on March 5, 1941, Dan graduated from Austin Catholic High School and then attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Miami, Florida, where he obtained a degree in Aviation Maintenance Science and met his future wife, Karen, in 1962. He returned to Detroit to begin his career as an aircraft mechanic in 1963.  In 1976, he moved his family to Savannah after accepting an opportunity to join Gulfstream Aerospace, where he worked until his retirement in 2003. 

Dan is lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Karen; sons, Steve Yaklin (Angie) and Kenny Yaklin (Jane); and sister, Carol Sacco (Lou), and brother, Bill Yaklin (Kathy).  He was also the proud grandfather of Kyle, Wade, Bryce, Hunter, Logan, Luke, and Lacey Yaklin.

Graveside funeral services will begin at 10:30 am, Saturday December 8, 2018, at Dorchester Cemetery.
