Hisayo "Susie" Cahill

Hisayo “Susie” Cahill, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Coastal Manor Nursing Home in Ludowici, GA.

She was born on September 14, 1923, on a little island near Hiroshima, Japan.  She came to the United States in 1952 as a military spouse and raised four children.  “Miss Susie” lived the past fifteen years, until her recent illness, at Magnolia Manor in Richmond Hill where she had many friends and enjoyed a happy and fulfilling life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, SFC (USA, Ret) Donald H. Cahill and her son, MAJ (USAF, Ret.) Robert F. Cahill (Michele).  She is survived by daughters, Katy Dasher (Palmer) of Flemington and Cheryl Kilbury (Bill) of Richmond Hill; a son, Donald H. Cahill, Jr. (Anita) of Jesup; six granddaughters, Tracey Rogers (Jason), Laura Cahill, Kristin Scoggins (Kenny), Lisa Cahill, Lindsey Green (Mitchell), and Emilee Stively (Matt); a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rogers, and a great-grandson, Jake Scoggins.

A private memorial service is planned for a later date.
