Elmo Fields

Elmo Fields, 71, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

Elmo was a native of Liberty County. He was a member of Coastal Christian Church. He retired from CSX Railroad after 37 years. He was in the GA National Guard for 4 years. He loved to fish and play golf. He was a gentle giant and a godly, loving man.

Elmo is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Kelley Fields; two sons, Shawn Fields (Laurie) of Allenhurst and Avery Fields (Sarah Roddenberry) of Richmond Hill; brother, Ken Fields of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Cherish, Ella, and Emma Fields; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on August 27, 2018 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel with a funeral service to begin at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow in Dorchester Cemetery.
