Marie Elizabeth Plough, 69, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, March 8, 2018, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Plough lived in Hinesville for the past 45 years. She was a very active member of Crossroads Holy Church of God where she was a member of the Board of Trustees, a Sunday School teacher, and loved and worked with all of the youth. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Plough Dasher; her father and mother, Wilbur and Marie Leece Cornell; sister, Gwendolyn Conner; and brother, Gregory Cornell.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Brian Plough of Hinesville; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cheryl Plough of Rincon; daughter, Sue Ellen Plough of Hinesville; son, Logan Plough of Hinesville; daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Randy Sharit of Pensacola, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Sonia and Eddie Turner of Mt. Vernon, TX; grandsons, Andrew Plough, Austin Blackwell, Tim Vondrak, and Luke Vondrak; granddaughter, Shyanne Sharit; great-grandson, Josiah Vondrak; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2 pm, Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Crossroads Holy Church of God, followed by burial in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Crossroads Holy Church of God, 2470 Highway 196 West, Hinesville, GA 31313.
