Mary Ann Douglas

Mary Ann Douglas left on a new adventure so peacefully on July 29^th, 2016, at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. Born Mary Akins to the late Andrew and Suzie Akins in Douglas, Georgia on April 14, 1930. She was an avid gardener and a wonderful cook. She is also preceded in death to her late husband Earnest J. Douglas, 1 daughter Jacqueline Cooler, 1 brother Olin Akins, 3 sisters Lorena Spivey, Estelle Carver, and Charlotte Forest. Survivors are 1 brother A.J. Akins and wife Quava, 4 sons and 1 daughter Harvey Douglas and wife Sonya, Ronny Douglas and wife Diana, Leon Douglas and wife Betty, Anna Carter and companion Daniel Lunsford, Joseph Douglas, 16 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Friday August 5^th at 2pm at Carters Funeral Home in Richmond Hill. Mom, Granny and Big Granny, rest in peace, great lady. We will miss you so. In lue of flowers, if you would like to bring a flower and take it home to plant in mom’s memory, she would love that.
