John Leslie Galbreath, 74, passed on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 surrounded by close family and friends.
He was born September 20, 1941 in Savannah Georgia to John Henry Galbreath and Wilowese Kicklighter Galbreath. He graduated from Groves High in 1960. He farmed with his father in Glennville and worked for WTOC as a camera man from 1960 to 1965. In 1970, Les founded Galbreath Clearing and Grading Inc. His love for developing land was his passion and great accomplishment. Later in life, he enjoyed living on his island and taking care of his fish ponds and garden. Les was a member of the 165th Air National Guard. He was a devoted Dale Earnhardt fan and he loved the music of Bob Seger and Ronnie Milsap.
Preceded in death by his mother, Wilowese Kicklighter Galbreath: his father, John Henry Galbreath; and sister, Agnes Martin. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Miner Galbreath; two children, son, John Douglas Galbreath (Tina) and daughter, Alicia Galbreath Edwards (Ricky); grandchildren, John Dustin Galbreath, Brandon Edwards, Brooks Edwards, Michaela Galbreath Boyer (Nicholas); numerous nieces and nephews; and three beloved German Shepherds, Major, Deuce, and Cash.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel 10512 Ford Ave Richmond Hill, Georgia. Funeral Services will be held the following day, Friday, June 3 at 6:00 p.m. on the island that he lived and loved located at 23756 Highway 144 Richmond Hill, Georgia.
