Nell Smiley Stegall

Nell Smiley Stegall, 83, of Hinesville, died Friday at Liberty Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Stegall was born in Liberty County. She was retired from AAFES on Fort Stewart after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John A. Smiley, Sr., and son, John Alex Smiley, Jr. Survivors are husband, Carey L Stegall of Hinesville; sons, Ronald William Smiley (Jane) of Ludowici and Michael Anthony Smiley (Evelyn) of Hinesville; daughter, Judith Ellen Guyett (Ken) of Hinesville; stepsons, Carey A. Stegall (Rhonda) of Destin, FL, and Kenneth T. Stegall (Martha) of Nashville, TN; brother, James Lynch of Perry, FL; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral service will be at 11 am on Monday, December 23, at Carter Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Brinkley officiating. Burial will be in Old Poplar Head Cemetery at Fort Stewart. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
