Albert Woods

Hinesville Albert F. Woods, 68, died Sunday December 4th at South East GA Health Systems in Brunswick, GA. Albert is a native of Sugar Hill and grew up in Dawsonville, GA. He retired after 20 years as a Staff Sargent in the US Army. During his service, he served three years in Vietnam where he earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He is a life member of the VFW, American Legion in Hinesville and the Masonic Lodge in Columbia SC. He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Woods of Unadilla, GA; Melissa King (Pete) of Hinesville; Michelle Cansler of Midway; three sons, Ricky Thurmond of Dawsonville, Michael Jerome Woods (Nancy) of Bloomingdale ; James Albert Woods (Leigh) of Dahlonega; one brother, Tommy Fouts of Dawsonville; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be 4:00 Thursday December 7th at the family residence; 54 Gwinnett Street Hinesville, GA. Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8th at the Andersonville National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Carter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
