Charlotte Hopkins Grimes passed away on January 19, 2026, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.

Charlotte Hopkins Grimes was the sixth child of ten children to William & Emma Hopkins. Preceded by Cleveland Hopkins, Randolph Hopkins, Violet Austin, Bloneva Hopkins, Peggy Gibson, Francina Berry, Vernetta Bullard.

Survived by one son Roy (Val), one daughter Sophia (Rey), Brother William (Diane), Sister Dorothy Glass, two granddaughters Joy & Staci, nieces, nephews, & cousins. She worked in the medical field for 32 years. She retired at Mercy Hospital in Coconut Grove, Florida.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a Prayer Vigil beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 399 Woodland Drive, Hinesville, GA 31313.

Burial will follow immediately after at Oglethorpe Memorial Park, Hinesville, GA
