Christina Marie Rockwood

Christina Marie Rockwood, affectionately known as Christy, was a vibrant soul who graced the world from February 24, 1984, until her untimely passing on December 5, 2025. She brought joy and laughter to everyone around her, embodying an adventurous spirit and an appreciation for life that inspired those who knew her.

Christy was a devoted mother, with her children—Madison, Maryn, Peyton, and Cash—being her world. Her love for them was evident in the countless adventures they shared, including her passion for planning parties that created cherished memories for her family. A fun-loving person, she had a unique ability to make the ordinary feel extraordinary, often filling her gatherings with laughter and warmth.

An adventurous individual, Christy embraced experiences that many only dream of, such as skydiving, and she enjoyed the sandy shores of the beach, always seeking the next thrill. Her energetic personality made her a pleasure to be around, as she was always on the go, bringing infectious enthusiasm wherever she went.

Christy is survived by her children, Madison, Maryn, Peyton, and Cash, her loving mother, Jennifer Gilstrap, her stepfather, Robin Allen Gillstrap, and her stepbrother, Caleb Gilstrap. She will also be missed by her beloved grandmother, Pam McDonald, as well as several uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

she is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Leonard (Len) McDonald, her grandfather, Author F. McDonald, and her grandfather, Gilberto Reyes. Their memories will continue to live on through Christy’s legacy and the love she spread during her time with us.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday December 10, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home.
