David Lee Morgan, 65, of Hinesville, GA, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023. He was born on October 4, 1957 in Winchester, VA to Ada Banks and John Morgan. David served in the United States Army for 20 years.
David was a man of honor and integrity, with a deep and unwavering faith in God. He was a family man who supported and encouraged his wife, Brenda Morgan, his daughters, Tiffany Matavao and April Morgan, his sister, Betty Washington, and his grandchildren, Thalia Morgan and Avery Morgan, in all their goals and endeavors. He was known for his amazing sense of humor and his love for basketball.
David's military associations were an important part of his life, and he served his country with distinction. He was proud of his 20 years of service in the United States Army, and his dedication to duty and his fellow soldiers was unwavering.
In addition to his military service, David was an avid basketball player and fan. He loved nothing more than spending time on the court, playing with friends and family. He also was an avid listener of Marcus Scott’s Education Hotline and would call in frequently to voice his thoughts on the importance of education.
David will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Banks; his father, John Morgan; his brother, John Morgan; and his son-in-law, Timothy Matavao. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Morgan; his daughters, Tiffany Matavao and April Morgan; his sister, Betty Washington; and his grandchildren, Thalia Morgan and Avery Morgan; and his son-in-law, Steven Hernandez.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
