Donna Rowan

Donna Marie Rowan was born on May 27, 1954, in Dearborn, Michigan, and passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 2:53 p.m. 

Donna embarked on a career as a waitress in 1972, a profession she embraced with remarkable commitment and passion until 2026.

Outside of her professional life, Donna found joy and fulfillment in a variety of interests and pursuits. She was an enthusiastic participant in bingo, treasured the excitement and camaraderie of cruising, and shared her home and heart lovingly with her pets: Tobbi, Sadie, Apollo, Sophia, and Mr. Smith.

She was the loving wife of John C. Rowan and a mother to her children, Christine Barrett (Ray), Melissa Meiser (Thomas), Andrew (Teena), and Michael (Terrie). Although she only had four children, she was a second mom to many. She also had two sisters, Kathy Baker (Doug) and Trisha Williams (Matt), and two brothers, Dennis Gutek and John Gutek.

She is also survived by her grandchildren—Eric Barrett, Christian Barrett, Carolyn Barrett, Hunter Meiser, Hannah Meiser, Blake Meiser, Hailey Cook, Gabriel Masch, Aleigha Smith (Tripp), Michael Rowan (Sukhui), and Abigail Rowan.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Frederick C. Gutek, and her mother, Theresa Marie Urbanski.

Donna’s life will be celebrated, and her memory will be cherished by those who continue to hold her dear.

Family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will follow at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home.
