Eddie Lamar Towson

Eddie Lamar Towson, born August 9, 1948 passed September 20, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Patrica L. Towson of 38 years, two sons Eddie Towson Jr., James M Towson (Laura), a daughter Ashley Towson Carey (Bobby), a brother Johnny Towson (Terry), two brother-in-law and a sister-in-law, Jerry and Kim Chaffin, and Lynn Smith. Four Grand-children and several nieces and nephews.

Eddie worked at Ga Ports Authority for 40 years. He was the first cane operator to work for GPA.

Eddie was a Mason and belonged to the Shiners. He loved sports and coached the South Side Riders in both Baseball and Football. He won several championships in both. Eddie loved to play golf but was unable to do so after his car crash in 1996 and a work accident.

Eddie had many friends that worked at GPA. Two that were as close as family, Bruce and Cathy wilds, Jim and Roberta Beasley. Also as close as family were Donna and Kevin Moore.

We met Donna after Eddie became bed bound and was not able to do things for himself. She took care of him for four years. Eddie loved life and donates his life to taking care of lake Jerico. He was President of the Home Owners Association for years. He retired earlier this year due to health reasons. Eddie was a true Georgia bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan He will be missed by his family, friends and their beloved pet Dixie.

Viewing will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, September 25, 2026 at Carter Funeral Home

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Midway Methodist Cemetery, 215 Martin Road Midway, Georgia 31320
