Elizabeth Suzette "Susie" Jackson

Elizabeth Suzette “Susie” Jackson, 64, of Hinesville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 30th 2026, at her residence, leaving behind a legacy of service, dedication, and love for her family, friends, and community.

Susie was a proud graduate of Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, Georgia, Class of 1980. She went on to serve her community through a long and honorable career in law enforcement with the Hinesville Police Department. Beginning her service in 1985 as a patrol officer, Susie dedicated more than three decades to protecting and serving others before retiring as a Lieutenant in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Hinesville Police Department in 2017.

Outside her career, Susie enjoyed golf and was a member of Cherokee Rose Country Club, where she spent many happy days on the course. She was also a member of the Cherokee Rose Ladies Golf Association and the Savannah Women’s Golf Association. Susie was active in her community and served on the McIntosh Lakes Community Board.

Susie loved lake life, traveling, and spending time with her sister, Yvonne, on family vacations. She also dearly loved her pets, Harley, Remington, and Sylvester, who brought her much joy and companionship.

She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Kelley (Ron), nephews Patrick Kelley (Andrea), Michael Kelley (Sarah), and Quincy Jackson, and niece Callie Jackson. Grandniece Addison Kelley, and Grandnephews Lincoln Kelley, and Eli Greil (step)

Susie was preceded in death by her father, James Donald Jackson; her mother, Juanita Kemp Jackson; and her brother, James Donald Jackson Jr.

Susie will be remembered for her strength, dedication, love of family, and the many lives she touched through her years of service and friendship.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. At Carter Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will follow at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home. Rev Ben Beasley will officiate.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at Lake Cemetery in Metter, Georgia. Hinesville Police Department Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers.
