Elizabeth Sheppard Welter, born on February 7, 1954, in Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on March 15, 2026, at Memorial Health University in Savannah, Georgia.

She was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Elizabeth pursued her education with determination, earning an Associate Degree, which reflected her passion for learning and personal growth. Elizabeth’s greatest joy came from spending quality time with her grandchildren. She loved their laughter, their stories, and the special moments they shared, which enriched her life beyond measure. These times spent with Dakota and Denver Welter were treasured and defined much of her happiness.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael E. Welter, and her children, Evan Michael Welter and Cheyenne Welter. Elizabeth also leaves behind her siblings: Daniel Sheppard, Ann Sheppard, and James Sheppard, as well as her extended family, including step-siblings Larry Little, LeDonna Cox, Diane Collins, and Claud Little.

Elizabeth Sheppard Welter’s life was a testament to the strength of family, the importance of service, and the joy found in everyday moments. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her and loved her.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Grace Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M

Funeral Service with military honors will be at Grace Baptist Church at 12:00 P.M

Burial will follow the service at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, GA
