Florence Josephine Smith Caswell "Jo"

Florence Josephine Smith Caswell “Jo”, 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Hospice House Savannah.

Jo was born on August 29, 1933 in Atlanta, GA and lived the past 39 years in Savannah. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family. Jo never met a stranger, and she had an impact on many people’s lives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thomas Caswell “Tommy”; her parents, James and Charlotte Smith; younger brother, Fred Donald Frank Smith; and brother-in-law, William Beebe.

Jo is survived by her daughter, Lisa Caswell Snyder and husband, Howard; sister, Audrey Beebe of Lilburn, GA; brother, Jay Edward Smith, Jr. and wife, Carole of Bartlesville, OK; along with several nieces and nephews; and several granddogs.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in Hinesville Cemetery.
