James Z. Lewis, Jr. (SSG, U.S. Army, Ret.)

SSG James Zackrise Lewis, Jr. (United States Army, Retired), 67, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Chong Suk Lewis, in 2019. He lived a full and effervescent life and enjoyed capturing every beautiful moment on film. He was adored by many, and his memory will continue bringing smiles to the faces of those he has left behind.

He is survived by his two daughters, Lesa and Sharlyne Lewis; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a beloved friend, Deloise. The family would like to give thanks to those who provided support and comfort in his final moments.

A memorial service with Full Military Honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Carter Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
