James S. Proman, 96, passed away Tuesday September 23, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

James was a lifelong resident of Bryan County. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. He retired from Great Dane Trailers.

He is proceded in death by his wife of 65 years Mary Proman, his son Jeames E. Proman; Daughter Nancy Proman Collins; Grandson Curtis Collins; Brother Harry Proman.

James is survived by 2 Daughters Linda Blankenship and Judy Goggins (Larry); 3 Sons Ricky Proman (Kandi), Ronnie Proman (Tammy) and Donnie Proman (Jesica); 10 Grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and Several Nieces and Nephews.  

Family will receive friends on Friday September 26, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Carter Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday September 26, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Howard officiating.

Burial will immediately follow the service at Daniel Baptist Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Alan Proman, Randy Poole, Scott Daniels, Carl Smith, James Clark, and Howard Clark.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Proman, Max Proman, Gage Hogan, Jimmy Goggins, and Chris Phillips.
