Jeannette Edith Findley, 83, died Sunday, February 1, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. She was the strong limb that has now fallen from our tree.
She was born January 8, 1943, and was a lifelong resident of Richmond Hill. Jeannette was known by many as a loving mother not only to her four children but all children. She was a teacher for many years at both Calvary Day Care and Savannah Christian Academy, which earned her the name “Ms. Net”. She loved to dance, take care of her flowers, gather with family and friends, and listen to music, especially her beloved Elvis.
She is preceded in death by her husband Elbert Perry Findley, her parents Gilbert and Louise Clark, her sister Judith (Edward) O’Neill, her brothers James Clark and Eugene Clark, and her grandson Clark Barefield. Survivors include her children, Shellma (Odell) Ward of Richmond Hill, Franklin (Cathy) Findley of Richmond Hill, Felicia (Russell) Barefield of Dawsonville, Nancy (Greg) Hart of Charleston, a special niece Cheryl (Becky) Pipkin of Richmond Hill, two brothers Julian (Margie) Clark and Rufus (Gail) Clark both of Richmond Hill, one sister Voncile (Denis) Sills of Alpharetta, two sisters-n-law Beverly Clark and Emily Clark both of Richmond Hill, eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the chapel of Carter Funeral Home.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will immediately follow at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church Cemetery.
