John Scott Boyd

John Scott Boyd, 73, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Mr. Boyd was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served in the 1^st Calvary, one of the most decorated combat divisions of the United States Army. He retired as the Chief of Logistics at Winn Army Community Hospital after thirty-three years of service.

He was a huge music lover, his favorite band being the Allman Brothers Band. He loved the Georgia Southern Eagles, Georgia Bulldogs, and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed the beach and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kayla Lynn Shives Boyd.

Mr. Boyd is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Niki and Roy Dasher; sister, Victoria Boyd; life partner, Heidi Fronk; step-daughters, Tammy Fronk and Tania Powell; eight grandchildren, Logan Lesh, Emma Mendieta, Lily Mendieta, Aryel Jones, Dillon Jones, Tryston Dasher, Isabella Bingham, and Ace Powell; and by his loving dog, Roxy.

Memorial services with Military Honors will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
