Lequis Jaqwan Veliz of Hinesville passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Hinesville, Georgia.
He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Lequis will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life, Damiana Loehnert, and their beautiful daughter, Alice Grace Veliz, who brought tremendous joy and meaning to his life.
He is survived by his parents, John and Lakisha Veliz Wise, and his mother, Carmen Morales. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandparents, Calvin and Kimberly Fields, Grace Fields, Cynthia Wise, Annabelle Santiago, and Marica “Marsh” Wiley; his great-grandparents, Charles and Pauline Jackson; his beloved siblings, Janelle, John “Jr.,” and Janessa; and his cherished nephews, Kordell and Kaleb. Lequis will be deeply missed by his aunts and uncles, Tonia; Calvin and Calandria; Christopher and Danielle; Nikia and Carlos; Jahira “Yary”; and Latoya, as well as John.
He also leaves behind a host of loving cousins, including Keith, Gregory, Le’Quisha, Precious, Brandon, Aishah, Llauryn, Maryonna, Chris Jr., Kynnedy, Aniyah, Christian, Donavan, Calvin Jr. “CJ,” Russell, Louis, Nana, and Gigi, along with many other relatives, extended family members, and dear friends. Lequis touched countless lives through his love, laughter, and unforgettable smile.
Although his time on earth was far too brief, the memories he created and the love he shared will continue to live on through his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home.
