Dale Smith

Leverette Dale Smith, 45, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 peacefully in his sleep.

Dale was a lifelong resident of Long County. He was an over the road truck driver. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Carolyn Smith; and sister, Lisa Cox.

Dale is survived by his brother, Billy Smith (Tina), sister, Kimberly Smith Davis (Jamie); daughter, Lexus Lanier; two sons, Warren and Wesley Lanier; one grandchild, Levi Lanier; four nephews, William Smith, Jr. (Cass), Bryce Davis, Gunner Brown, and Colton Strickland; three nieces, Macy Smith Brown (Jack), Bailey Davis, and Bristol Brown; and sister-in-law, Paula Smith.

A walk-through visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Dale’s home, 67 Low Country Lane, SW, Ludowici, GA 31316 next to Low Country Paintball. Burial will follow in Oglethorpe Memorial Park Cemetery.

Social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are recommended in the funeral home.
