Margaret Buck Beasley

November 7, 1923 — October 20, 2025

Fleming

With profound love and gratitude, we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Bell Buck Beasley, who departed this life on October 20, 2025, at the remarkable age of 101.

Born on November 7, 1923, in Augusta, Georgia, Margaret and her family moved to her mother's family home in Fleming, Georgia during the Great Depression. Margaret lived through more than a century of change, always grounded in faith, kindness and an extraordinary generosity of spirit. She was the heart of her family and a beacon of warmth to everyone who knew her.

Famous for her cooking and hospitality, Margaret's kitchen was the soul of her humble home, where anyone could find a warm meal, a listening ear and a loving heart. Whether it was a simple weekday meal, a Sunday dinner after Church or a holiday feast, there was always room at her table for one more. She fed countless people over the years, and nourished bodies and spirits alike with food, stories and lots of laughter.

She worked at McCall's Store in the Mcintosh community for eighteen years where she treated all her customers with respect and dignity and made many life-long friends in the McIntosh and Holmestown communities. She then worked at Coastal Utilities and became the voice of the "Information" operator. She knew the phone numbers of most local business establishments by heart and her pleasant voice was widely known throughout Liberty County.

She was a life-long member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Fleming, Georgia and the way she lived her life and treated others was a testimony to her deep-rooted faith and love of the Lord.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt and friend who believed in giving without expectation and loving without condition. Her quiet acts of kindness and generosity left a deep and lasting imprint on everyone lucky enough to cross her path.

She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings as well as her husband, Charles Beasley, her sons, Leonard, Harold and Laurance and her beloved grandson, Tommy. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Godley (Clay), her daughter-in-law, Paulette Beasley, her grandchildren, Tammy Kersey (Troy), Cindy Harris, Chris Beasley (Rebecca), Lane Fanning (Joseph), Grayson Godley (Alison), and Maria Askea (Jacob). She is also survived by her twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gabriel's House, Post Office Box 35, Hinesville, Georgia 31310 in her memory - a reflection of her love for children and her giving spirit.

The family would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Manor of Midway for the compassion and excellent care they gave to our precious mother while she was a resident there.

Though her hands are now at rest, the warmth of her table and the love she gave will never fade.

A celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 2 p.m, at Carter Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will immediately follow the service in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fleming, GA.
