Patricia Waters Bashlor passed peacefully in her home in Metter, GA surrounded by family on Friday, June 12, 2026. Born in Jesup on August 1, 1940 to James Edgar Waters and Bertie Sapp Waters, Pat lived a full life decorated with memories she never failed to cherish. Whether she was talking about trips to the mall with her dad, taking up a near permanent residence on Tybee Island each summer, or cooking warm meals shared with as many people that could fit in her Richmond Hill home, her family and friends present for each memory were the most precious part to her.
Pat grew up in Garden City, GA and graduated from Savannah High School and was a long time member of Savannah Progressive Primitive Baptist Church. Her first job was at Savannah Bank before she went to the Dixie Crystal Sugar Refinery where she retired after 38 years. She was a hardworking, talented woman and spent many years baking and decorating cakes long into the night, a skill she passed down to her daughter and granddaughters. She also had a deep love for cars, a love that was equally shared with her two sons.
Her interests didn’t end there. Together with her loving husband, R.B. Bashlor Jr., they celebrated all the joy there was to find in life with their loved ones. They went on many road trips and excursions, often with her parents and friends. Her grandchildren spent their visits going to the beach, the movie theater, and everything in between. Every month she met up with her high school girlfriends up until these final years. Pat was known for her love of shopping, all things pink, and of course the distinct smell of her favorite perfume that lingered on your clothes long after she hugged you.
Patricia Bashlor was preceded in death by her parents as well as her dear sister Betty Brown and husband of over 50 years, R.B. Bashlor Jr. She is survived by her two sons Ricky Bashlor (Vicky) and Eddie Bashlor (Angela), her daughter JoAnne Bashlor Yeakle (Ron), eight grandchildren, and many beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Pat’s family will hold a visitation for friends and family at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Carter Funeral Home.
