Patrick Lamar Langston Jr., affectionately known as “Buddy” or “Lil Pat,” was born on June 19, 2007, in Miami, Florida, to his loving parents, Angenika McNail and Patrick Langston. Buddy was his mother’s first son and his father’s only son — a precious gift whose life brought immeasurable love, joy, and purpose to his family.

From the very beginning, Buddy carried a light within him that could brighten any room he entered. His smile was unforgettable, his spirit uplifting, and his heart filled with genuine love and affection. To know Buddy was to experience warmth, laughter, comfort, and kindness. He had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved simply by being himself.

God planted a seed so that Patrick could flourish and grow in the state of Georgia, where he spent most of his childhood creating memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him. While living in Georgia, Lil Pat attended elementary school, middle school, and high school, and proudly played little league football.

Buddy enjoyed playing video games, participating in outdoor activities with his family, and embracing every moment life had to offer. More than anything, he cherished the time he spent with his younger siblings. He took great pride in being a big brother — guiding, protecting, encouraging, and teaching them the ways of life. Buddy naturally carried himself with love, strength, and wisdom beyond his years, always wanting the people around him to feel safe, happy, and cared for.

On May 9, 2026, Patrick Lamar Langston Jr. was called home far too soon. Though his passing leaves an unimaginable void, his family finds peace in knowing his beautiful soul now rests eternally with God. Buddy was pure-hearted, loving, and truly special — a young man whose life, though brief, left a lasting impact on everyone blessed enough to know him.

“The good die young,” and Buddy’s life is a testament to that truth. His love, laughter, bright smile, and unforgettable spirit will continue to live on through the countless memories shared by his family and friends. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him most.

Patrick Lamar Langston Jr.’s legacy is one of love, loyalty, compassion, and joy. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories:

His loving mother, Angenika McNail; father, Dewaine Phipps; brothers, Dewaine Phipps, Jacob, and Zion Phipps; sisters, Lamaria, Lazariah, and Sevyn; grandmother, Sandra Phillis; grandfather, Franklin McNeil;  along with a host of extended family members, loved ones, and friends who will forever cherish and honor his memory.
