Pattie Jo Howe, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. She was 73 years old.
Pattie Jo was born to Dale Omar and Stella Irene (Clifton) Brown on March 6, 1953, in Davenport, Iowa. Pat attended Pleasant Valley High School, where she would fall in love with her high school sweetheart, John Howe. They were married on April 29, 1972, and celebrated 53 years together. Shortly after their wedding, Pat came to know Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, a decision that would become the foundation of the rest of her life.
In 1972, Pat and John relocated to Connecticut. There, John served in the United States Navy for five years before answering the call to pastoral ministry in 1976. He later went on to pastor two churches, Lone Rock Baptist Church in New Lisbon, Wisconsin, and Lighthouse Baptist Church in Ogallala, Nebraska, where Pat faithfully ministered alongside her husband for about 30 years. Her meek and gracious spirit was a steady blessing in each congregation they served. Together, they built a family rooted in faith and love, raising four children - Melissa, Andrea, Russell, and Thomas.
Professionally, Pat was a highly skilled and detail-oriented administrative assistant at Ziegler, Needler Law Office, and the Keith County Sheriff's Office. She was highly respected by her colleagues and was known to be very dependable.
Over the years, Pat enjoyed taking walks, tending to her flower garden, and crewel embroidering. In 2019, she retired, and they moved to Hinesville, Georgia, to be closer to family. She was a beloved member of Grace Baptist Church, and nothing meant more to her than her faith and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Stella Brown, and her siblings Ron Brown and Sandy Bradley.
She leaves behind her husband, John Howe; her children, Melissa (Paul) Lucas, Andrea (Benjamin) Lodwick, Russell (Kristina) Howe, and Thomas (Kristi) Howe; 16 grandchildren; her brother Dwaine (Julia) Brown, nieces and nephews, and a legacy marked by her unwavering faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is finally at peace in her heavenly home!
