Richard Wayne “Ricky" Proman, 69, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Born on December 16, 1956, in Savannah, Georgia,
Ricky was a lifelong resident of Richmond Hill, a place he proudly called home. Ricky was a hardworking, humble man who believed in taking care of his family and finding joy in life's simple pleasures. He was never one to complain, no matter what life brought his way. He simply kept going, worked hard, and loved his family. He enjoyed spending his time detailing cars, working in the yard, and trying his luck with a scratch-off lottery ticket. Ricky also had a special place in his heart for his beloved rescue dogs, who brought him so much happiness and companionship. Above all, Ricky was a family man.
He shared 44 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kandice. He was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, brother, and friend. His quiet strength, hardworking nature, and love for his family will forever be remembered by those who knew him.
Ricky shared a special bond with his only son, Gary. Through his example, he taught Gary the importance of hard work, dedication, and taking care of the people you love. Ricky may not have been a man of many words, but his love was shown through his actions.
The lessons he passed down and the memories they shared will always be a part of Gary's life. A father's love leaves a lasting impression, and Ricky's will continue to live on through his son and grandchildren.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, James “Lloyd” and Mary Proman; his sister, Nancy Collins; and his brother, James “Wally” Proman. He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Kandice Proman; his son, Gary Proman (Casey); and his two cherished grandchildren, Lane and Emery. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Blankenship and Judy Goggins; his brothers, Ronnie Proman (Tammy) and Donnie Proman (Jessica); along with other family members and friends who will dearly miss him. Ricky never needed much to be happy. A little work to keep his hands busy, a lottery ticket to scratch, his dogs by his side, and the love of his family were more than enough. Though he may no longer be with us, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of his family forever.
Funeral Arrangements: A funeral service honoring Ricky's life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Ricky and celebrate a life filled with hard work, quiet strength, and love for those who meant the most to him.
