Robert Hughes Wedincamp

Robert Hughes Wedincamp (Bob) died Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Hospice of Savannah, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born July 24, 1956, in Ludowici, Ga, but immediately left for Liberty County, where he lived his entire life. Bob graduated from Bradwell Institute in 1974. Shortly thereafter, he went to work at Interstate Paper, where he made numerous lifelong friends. He retired after 44 years. Bob loved the outdoors. Whether it be in the woods or on the water, as long as he was with friends and family, he was in the right place.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis C. Wedincamp and Jacquelyn R. Wedincamp, his brother Mark B. Wedincamp, and his sister-in-law Glenda Wedincamp (Hal).

Bob is survived by his son, Robert Hughes Wedincamp Jr (Bobby), his daughter-in-law Melissa H. Wedincamp, his two grandchildren, Robert Hughes Wedincamp III (Tripp) and Monroe H. Wedincamp, his brothers Hal Wedincamp and Danny Wedincamp, his sister-in-law Wanda Wedincamp, and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 8, 2026, starting at 6 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Gabe Gill officiating.

Burial will immediately follow the service at the Hinesville cemetery.
