Roland Padrick

Roland Padrick (91) passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2026, with his beloved wife of 72 years by his side.

He was born on November 25, 1934, in Wilmington, North Carolina, to William Roland Padrick and Annie Mae Gray Padrick. In 1968, Mr. Padrick moved his family to Hinesville, Georgia, where he began working at Interstate Paper Mill in Riceboro. After a couple of years at the mill, he decided to pursue his lifelong dream of owning his own Plumbing company, a trade he had learned as a teenager. Sanitary Plumbing was incorporated in 1971 and remains a family-owned and operated business with the 3rd generation now poised to continue the legacy of honest business practices that have made its company successful for 55 years. Mr. Padrick was a devoted and active member of First Baptist Church of Hinesville. He was a good steward of his time and resources.

He enjoyed Bible study, worship, and the fellowship he shared with his First Baptist friends. Preferring to serve quietly behind the scenes, he faithfully worked to keep the church building in good repair and the grounds well maintained. In the book of Colossians, we read, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” He truly lived those words. His service was not done for praise, but from a genuine heart that desired to help others and honor God. Mr. Padrick was an avid fisherman and loved a good-natured fishing competition with his sons and friends. He was famously secretive about his favorite fishing spots and had an exceptional knowledge of the waterways throughout Liberty County. He not only enjoyed catching fish but also loved cooking them for large gatherings of family and friends.

From 1989 through 1993, Mr. Padrick joined friends in organizing the annual July Fest, a charitable event benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This weekend-long celebration at Yellow Bluff featured a shark-and-trout tournament, craft vendors, live music, food, races, custom-designed T-shirts, and a variety of other family-friendly activities. The event brought the community together, raised awareness, and contributed over $250,000.00 to an important cause.

 Mr. Padrick was preceded in death by his parents, William Roland Padrick and Annie Mae Gray Padrick; his sister, Gladys Padrick Skiles, and brother-in-law, Norman Skiles; his sister, Mary Lillie Padrick Morgan, and brother-in-law, George Morgan; his grandson, Alan Aycock; his great-granddaughter, Kennedy Coleman; and other beloved relatives and friends.

Left to cherish his memory and honor his legacy are his beloved wife of 72 years, Margaret Phelps Padrick; his sons, Al Padrick (Jennie) of Ludowici, Georgia, and Don Padrick (Lois) of Hinesville, Georgia; and his daughter, Sue Padrick Aycock (Al) of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Michael Padrick (Kelly), Jason Jones, Melissa Padrick Guyett (George), Jennifer Aycock, Mindi PadrickColeman (Brian), and Kristi Padrick Kitchings (Bailey); twelve great-grandchildren, Kyle Hagler, Krew Jones (Deliza), KalebJones, Kyle Seale, Zachary Padrick (Savanna), Evan Guyett, Blake Peebles, Travis Peebles, Jayden Padrick, Arianna Castillo, Sophie Coleman, and Bowen Kitchings; three great-great-grandchildren, Eseme Jones, River Padrick, and Aubriella Padrick; his faithful caregiver, Dee McTier; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

The Padrick family extends their heartfelt thanks to Hinesville Home Instead and Georgia Hospice Care for the gentle, loving care they provided and for the compassion with which they guided the family while ensuring Mr. Padrick’s peace and comfort in his final weeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Hinesville, Georgia.

The employees of Sanitary Plumbing will be serving as the honorary pallbearers.

Family will receive friends starting at 5 pm on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, at Carter Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, at 3 pm at First Baptist Church of Hinesville. 

Mr. Padrick will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Burial will immediately follow the service in the Hinesville cemetery.
