Sandra Waite Quick

Sandra Helen Waite Quick of Midway, Ga. Passed away on August 11, 2026, at home under the care of hospice, with her loving family by her side.

Sandra was born in Savannah, Ga., in 1941 to the late Helen Smith & Henry Vinton Waite Sr. She retired as a manager from JC Penney Atlanta Catalog Distribution Center after 27 years. Here, she was an active bowler and served as their league secretary for many years.

An active member of Fleming Baptist Church in Fleming, Ga., she volunteered and served in many areas of the church. She was one of the treasurers, sang in choir, and was a WOM leader.

One of her interests was genealogy, and she was a life member of the State of Georgia Salzburg Genealogy Society. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Janet McKay Waite; Brother Henry Vinton Waite Jr.; maternal grandparents, Bertha E. Gould and Julian F. Smith; paternal grandparents, Alma Freeland and Wm. J. McKay; Essie B. Freeland; Edwin P. Waite; and a Grandson, Johnathan Quick.

She is survived by her husband of 68+ years, Jack W. Quick; sons Mark S. (Debbie) Quick of Hampton, Ga., and David J. (Johnna) Quick of Midway, Ga.; daughter Sheryl H. (Paul) Ervin of Ringgold, Ga. Grandchildren: Stephen Quick, Crystal Dexter, Matthew Quick, Nick, Brad, and Jessica Ervin, and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

The Family will receive friends on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Fleming Baptist Church.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Fleming Baptist Church, with Bro. Greg Wilson officating.

Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. in the Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia.
