Sherry Dell Clark of Richmond Hill, Georgia, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on May 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 7, 1940, in Savannah, Georgia, Sherry was the daughter of the late Ellie George Wilson Jr. and the late Eleanor Virginia Davis Wilson. She graduated with honors from Leesburg High School in Miami, Florida, and later returned to Georgia to attend Bollan and Drum College in Savannah.
A lifelong resident of Richmond Hill, Sherry was a faithful Christian whose love for the Lord guided her throughout her life. She faithfully served her community and church for many years as a Sunday School teacher at Bethel Baptist Church in Richmond Hill. She also shared her love of learning and faith as an elementary school teacher at Faith Christian Academy in Ludowici, Georgia.
Sherry was a devoted wife for 63 years, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a treasured friend to many. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed writing poetry, short stories, and even a book. An accomplished seamstress and homemaker, she found great joy in caring for her family and creating a warm and loving home. Above all, she cherished spending time with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, GeneBurnise Clark; her daughters, Ginger Alyson Parker and TerrieGene Kennedy; as well as two brothers, Calvin Ivey Wilson and Gerald “Jerry” Cecil Wilson; and one sister, Gloria Ann Wilson Shuman Erickson.
Sherry leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her daughters, Giniver Alyson Brown (Prentice Kerry Brown), Susan Kathryn Mosley (John HenryMosley II), April Lynn Simpson (Eddie Preston Simpson III), and Angela Joy Clark. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Sherry's legacy of faith, love, kindness, and devotion to her family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of Carter Funeral Home.
Burial will immediately follow the service in Daniel Baptist Cemetery in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
