William Dupree Welborn

William Dupree Welborn, affectionately known as "Pops," was born on August 10, 1927, in Cool Spring, North Carolina. He gracefully departed this world on September 12, 2025, in Ludowici, Georgia, going to be with his Lord and Savior.

Pops was a proud World War II veteran, serving his country with honor and dedication. He had a profound love for music, often sharing joyous moments playing with his family. His hobbies extended beyond music; he also enjoyed golf, hunting, and fishing, reflecting a spirit deeply connected to both the land and the family he cherished. Throughout his life, William accomplished remarkable feats, including teaching himself to play the piano, guitar, and mandolin. As the oldest of ten siblings.

William is survived by his wife, Arlean, and their children: Sandy Truett (Buster), Steve Welborn (Annie), and Barbara Martin. He is also remembered with love by his sister, Diane, along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Hassie Welborn, a son, Chuck Welborn, and siblings: Norman, Raymond, Pete, and Paul, as well as sisters Lavada, Judy, and Francis.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday at 11 A.M. at Gum Branch Baptist Church at 8590 GA-196, Hinesville, GA 31313.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 12 P.M. at Gum Branch Baptist Church at 8590 GA-196, Hinesville, GA 31313 with Rev. Gabe Gill officiating.

Burial will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Gum Branch Baptist Church building fund in "Pop's" name.
